Phase 1: Real Estate as a Professional Career
Pre-Registration Course
What You Will Learn
Phase 1 overviews the benefits, challenges and limitations of a real estate career. This introductory program lays the foundation for subsequent phases by detailing salesperson responsibilities, how the marketplace operates and what principles impact value, along with in-depth real estate calculations concerning listing and selling property. Students develop analytic skills and knowledge levels necessary to address advanced course materials.
Enrollment Packages
Includes the latest edition of the Real Estate Encyclopedia and Provincial Reference Manual. Course workbook/CD ROM is provided for correspondence students only. E-Learning students use an online workbook.

Phase 2: Real Estate as a Professional Career
Pre-Registration Course
What You Will Learn
Phase 2 focuses on property ownership rights and limitations, current land registry systems and planning processes including land use restrictions. Statutory and legal requirements concerning real property and marketplace trading practices are also emphasized. Students further acquire a solid grounding in residential construction, agency relationships, and widely-accepted property valuation methods.
Phase 2 is a demanding, detail-oriented program equipping practitioners with necessary knowledge to assist buyers and sellers making marketplace decisions while setting the stage for Phase 3 workshop activities.

Phase 3: Commercial
Real Estate as a Professional Career: Pre-Registration Course
What You Will Learn
Phase 3 Commercial focuses on basic investment decisions and the fundamentals of buyer/seller representation including proposals and marketing strategies. As with its residential counterpart, students draft agreements and prepare related documentation. Given the scope of commercial activity, discussions and exercises include specialty areas such as retail and office leasing, sale of businesses, and industrial real estate.
Phase 3 Commercial is structured to complement agreement basics taken in Phase 3 Residential.
Note: Hewlett Packard Business 10BII is highly recommended for this course.

Successful completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2
Study Methods

- The self-directed segment must be completed before attending the classroom segment.
Students who enroll for the e-learning or correspondence segment must, at the same time select and enroll for the subsequent 40 hour classroom segment to take place following the suggested course completion date.
